Introduction
Tomotick ("we," "our," or "the App") is a Pomodoro focus timer developed for iOS. This Privacy Policy explains how Tomotick handles information when you use our application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.
Summary: Tomotick does not collect, transmit, or sell your personal data. All information stays on your device. We do not require an account, do not use analytics or advertising, and do not track you across apps or websites.
Information We Do Not Collect
Tomotick is designed as a privacy-first, local-only application. We do not collect:
- Personal identification information (name, email, phone number)
- Location data
- Contacts, photos, or media library data
- Device identifiers for tracking or advertising
- Usage analytics or behavioral data
- Financial or payment information
- Health or fitness data
- Browsing or search history
Tomotick does not connect to any external servers. There is no backend service, cloud sync, or third-party analytics SDK integrated into the app.
Information Stored Locally on Your Device
To provide app functionality, Tomotick stores the following data exclusively on your iPhone using Apple's UserDefaults (on-device storage):
App Settings
- Timer durations (focus, short break, long break)
- Number of pomodoros before a long break
- Daily focus goal (minutes)
- Notification and Live Activity preferences
- Auto-start and completion sound settings
- Appearance mode (light, dark, or system)
- Tomato dial display preferences
Tasks
- Task titles and status (todo, doing, done)
- Planned focus minutes per task
- Accumulated focus time per task
Statistics
- Daily focus time and pomodoro counts
- Consecutive-day streak data
- Free-focus session totals
Timer State
- Current timer phase, remaining time, and session metadata
- Data needed to resume the timer after app backgrounding or device restart
This data is used solely to operate the app on your device. It is never transmitted off your device by Tomotick. If you delete the app, all locally stored data is removed along with it.
Device Permissions
Tomotick may request the following optional system permissions:
Notifications (Optional)
If you enable timer-end alerts, Tomotick requests permission to send local notifications (e.g., "Focus session complete" or "Break is over"). These notifications are generated entirely on your device and do not involve any server. You can disable notifications at any time in Tomotick Settings or iOS Settings.
Live Activities (Optional)
On iOS 16.2 and later, you may enable Live Activities to display your countdown on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island. This feature uses Apple's ActivityKit framework and operates entirely on-device. No data is sent to Tomotick servers.
Permissions We Do Not Request
- Camera or microphone
- Location services
- Photo library or contacts
- Network/internet access (the app functions fully offline)
Tracking & Third-Party Services
Tomotick does not track you as defined by Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework. We do not use advertising identifiers (IDFA), fingerprinting, or cross-app tracking technologies.
Tomotick does not integrate third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or social SDKs. The app does not contain in-app purchases that require payment data collection at this time.
Audio Content
Tomotick includes ambient white noise audio (rain, forest, ocean, cafรฉ, wind, and white noise) bundled within the app. These audio files are played locally on your device. Audio sources are credited in the app and are licensed under Creative Commons CC0 from BigSoundBank. Playing audio does not involve any network connection or data transmission.
Children's Privacy
Tomotick does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). Because the app stores all data locally and does not collect personal information, it is suitable for users of all ages under parental guidance.
Your Rights (GDPR, CCPA & Global Privacy Laws)
Because Tomotick does not collect or process personal data on external servers, traditional data-subject requests (access, portability, erasure from servers) are not applicable โ your data exists only on your device and is under your direct control.
- Access & Portability: All your data is visible within the app (tasks, stats, settings).
- Deletion: Delete individual tasks in the app, or uninstall Tomotick to remove all stored data.
- Opt-out of tracking: Not applicable โ Tomotick does not track users.
- Do Not Sell: We do not sell personal information. We do not collect it.
If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, California, or other regions with privacy regulations, this policy is intended to comply with GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and similar frameworks by virtue of our data-minimization approach.
Data Security
Your data is protected by your device's built-in security (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID, and iOS sandboxing). Tomotick does not add additional cloud storage or external data transmission that could introduce security risks. We recommend keeping your device software up to date.
International Users
Tomotick is available on the App Store in multiple countries and regions. Because all data processing occurs locally on your device, there is no cross-border data transfer by Tomotick. This policy applies equally to all users regardless of location.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
