Frequently Asked Questions

How do I start a focus session?

Open the Focus tab and tap Start. You can optionally bind a task first by tapping the task area above the timer, or start a free-focus session without a task.

How do I customize timer durations?

Go to SettingsTimer. Adjust focus duration, short break, long break, and the number of pomodoros before a long break. Tap Reset to Defaults anytime to restore 25/5/15 minute presets.

Will my timer continue if I close the app?

Yes. Tomotick saves your timer state locally. If you background the app or your device restarts, the timer resumes with the correct remaining time when you reopen Tomotick.

How do Live Activities work?

On iOS 16.2 and later, enable Live Activities in Settings. Your countdown appears on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island with phase colors and your current task name. Live Activities require system support and user permission.

Why am I not receiving notifications?

Ensure notifications are enabled both in Tomotick Settings and in iOS Settings → Notifications → Tomotick. Also check that Focus modes or Do Not Disturb aren't silencing alerts.

How does white noise work?

Tap the sound icon on the Focus screen to open the white noise sheet. Choose from six ambient scenes, adjust volume, and set an optional auto-stop timer (15, 30, or 60 minutes). Audio fades in and out smoothly.

How are stats and streaks calculated?

Focus time and pomodoro counts are recorded per calendar day on your device. A streak counts consecutive days where you completed at least one focus session. View your 7-day heat map and per-task breakdown in the Stats tab.

Is my data stored in the cloud?

No. All tasks, settings, statistics, and timer state are stored locally on your iPhone using Apple's on-device storage. Tomotick does not require an account and does not transmit your data to any server. See our Privacy Policy for details.

What devices are supported?

Tomotick requires iOS 15.6 or later for the main app. Live Activities require iOS 16.2 or later. The app is optimized for iPhone in portrait orientation.

How do I delete a task?

In the Tasks tab, swipe left on any task and tap Delete, or long-press a task and choose Delete from the context menu.
